Crew profile:
Brand Van Dyk, 28 Captain & Dive MasterBrand grew up in the small town of Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, has always been with a passion for all kinds of watersports, like fishing and of course boating! He graduated University and took an opportunity to move to the UK for work and discovered a new passion, traveling! After some extensive trips, Brad went back to help his family to build a new business and stayed a few years in South Africa. He took a sailing course in Langebaan and fell in love with the idea of sailing his own boat. While sailing the around the coast of South Africa, he followed his dream of being a captain. Brad then mastered his RYA Yacht Master Offshore Captain’s license; accepted job offers to deliver boats from as far as Cape Town to Tortola in the BVI’s. A St.Martin based charter yacht company hired him as a captain and in the past years he sailed the BVI and St Martin area with guests and knows all the little hidden treasure spots. His interest in the ocean and his love for outdoorsy activities lead him to a new passion and he started to SCUBA dive. Brandt mastered shortly thereafter his PADI SCUBA Divemaster certification and loves to share his underwater love with the guests. He is a laid back personality and has a patience of a saint. Nothing brings him easily out of control and he seams to be ahead of it all at all times.Guests love to have conversations with Brand about the world and above.

Jayde Couzyn, 25, ChefOriginating from Johannesburg, South Africa, some of Jayde’s earliest and fondest memories were of learning, assisting and later leading her mother and grandmother’s gourmet cooking. They both are passionate chefs and so Jayde took over the family’s grand tradition of exploring and creating new tastes and menus. Jayde graduated with honors of degree on the Greenwich University in software development and became employed by a larger food and wine company. After intensive training as a yacht master for power and sailboats, she accepted a job offer cruising the globe; her trips took her to exotic places like Mexican Riviera, Hawaii, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Barbados, Antigua, and The Big Apple. But she fell in love with the Caribbean, took the opportunity of learning the skills of befriended charter chefs by sailing on crewed charter yachts and also mastered her SCUBA certification, a new passion discovered! Her extensive traveling and discovering the globe, in the search of its variety and flavorful food & wines lead her to her position as a very knowledgably and skilled chef on Pegasus of London. Her favorite meals include the traditional and delicious South African type of BBQ, called Braai, she loves to add her influences collected form all over the world and create fusions of traditional meals with international flavors.
Brand and Jayde love families, lots of activity and are non-smokers!

Captain Brand has added to his skill set by upgrading from Dive Master to Dive Instructor over the off season; and Chef/Mate Jayde has added to hers by becoming an RYA Yachtmaster Coastal skipper - all the better for running even more successful seasons.
