CAPTAIN:MICHAEL SPILLER –BritishMike is qualified as a Commercial Master and owned and ran his own yacht for many years. He has captained many other sail and motor yachts such as M/Y Saud and S/Y Barcarole. He has also operated several passenger and commercial vessels. Mike has been the permanent Master of M/Y Esmeralda since September 1995. Mike is also qualified as a B.S.A.C Diving Instructor.

CHIEF OFFICER: DAMIEN BREDILLET –FrenchDamien is qualified as a Master and is the yacht’s Security & Safety Officer. He has many years experience on a number of yachts including M/Y Rahil, M/Y Sensation, M/Y Amazon Express, and M/Y Enzo. This will be Damien’s second season on board M/Y Esmeralda. Prior to yachting Damien trained in the French military.

CHIEF STEWARDESS: HELEN BURNS –British/NZThis will be Helen’s second season on board M/Y Esmeralda. Helen is a skilled Chief Stewardess with many years work in the yachting industry on well known yachts such as S/Y Shenandoah, M/Y Issana and M/Y Ocean Sapphire. During this time Helen has perfected the wide variety of skills required to provide the perfect charter experience for our guests.

CHIEF ENGINEER:RADOSLAV CETKOVIC –Montenegrin (3 month rotation)Radoslavis a fully qualified Commercial Chief Engineer. He isalso a qualified electrician and had many years experience in the commercial sector before joining the yachting industry. This will be Radoslav’s seventeenth year on board. He has a detailed knowledge of the yacht and all of its systems.

HEAD CHEF:TARAS MELIKH –UkrainianThis will be Taras’s tenth season on board M/Y Esmeralda. He has extensive experience aboard cruise ships including the Royal Olympic and the 5 star Hebridean Spirit. Tarasis a very skilled head of the galley and his abilities cover a wide spectrum of the culinary arts including oriental tastes, European cookery with its many varied styles, combined with his earlier experience as a specialised pastry chef.

SECOND OFFICER: GEORGE LEASK –ScottishGeorge is fully qualified as a Commercial Junior Officer.With previous work on large passenger ships and ocean going fishing vessels he has mastered the art of seamanship. George is a very experienced Second Officer, who also doubles as the ship’s carpenter being skilled in all aspects of the maintenance of the yacht. This will be George’s fifteenth year in total with M/Y Esmeralda.

BOSON: PAVO MARCINKO –CroatianPavois fully qualified as a Commercial Officer of the Watch (Deck) and has previous experience aboard a number of yachts such as M/Y Felidan. Prior to yachting he worked in the commercial sector gaining a wide experience on many different types of vessels. This will be Pavo’s fifth season on board M/Y Esmeralda.

LEAD DECKHAND: PAUL KRUGER –South AfricanThis will be Paul’s ninth season on board M/Y Esmeralda. He isan experienced, skilled, deckhand. Paul is qualified as a Master of Yachts 200tons. Prior to yachting he had good experience with the operation and maintenance of commercial fishing vessels in his home country of South Africa.

DECKHAND:CHRIS PAKALNS –LatvianChris has previous experience in the hospitality industry and on charter sailing and motor yachts including M/Y Mediterraneo II and M/Y Trunorth. Chris is also skilled in small boat handling and detailed yacht maintenance. This will be Chris’s second season on board.

DECKHAND: Darren Brown –BritishDarren joined M/Y Esmeralda early this season. He has previous experience on other yachts such as M/Y Asya and M/Y Henry. Prior to joining yachting Darren worked in the U.Kbuilding industry giving him good hands on maintenance and other associated skills.

CHIEF ENGINEER: STOJAN POPOVIC –Montenegrin(3 month rotation)Stojanis fully qualified as a Commercial Chief Engineer with considerable experience in many types of vessel. This will be his fourteenth year on board M/Y Esmeralda. He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the yacht’s engineering, electrical and IT systems.

SECOND ENGINEER:DAUT BANDA –Montenegrin(3 month rotation)Dautis a qualified Commercial Second Engineer and has had considerable experience on many commercial ships before coming into yachting. He is extremely skilled in all aspects of his work. This will be Daut’s second season aboard M/Y Esmeralda.

SECOND ENGINEER: NIKOLA DZUDOVIC –Montenegrin(3 month rotation)Nikola is a qualified Commercial Second Engineer with many years experience in commercial shipping before moving to the yachting industry. This will be Nikola’s third season aboard M/Y Esmeralda.

THIRD ENGINEER:DRAGAN KOVACEVIC –Montenegro(3 month rotation)Dragan is a qualified Junior Engineer and has had considerable experience with small power boats and water sports equipment before coming into yachting. This will be Dragan’s seventh season aboard M/Y Esmeralda.

S/STEWARDESS: CLIO RAUCH –German This will be Clio’s third season onboard M/Y Esmeralda. Clio has worked as a stewardess on a number of high profile yachts such as M/Y Rasselas and M/Y Oneness. Clio also has prior experience in the hospitality industry including working at a four star Sporthotel in Germany controlling the balance of guest’s diets.

STEWARDESS: SUZANA GRGIC –SlovenianThis will be Suzana’s second season on board M/Y Esmeralda. Suzana has good previous experience on well known yachts such as M/Y Sorayaand M/Y Moonlight. Prior to yachting Suzana worked in the hospitality and tourist industries.

STEWARDESS: KAMILA KOPIEC –PolishKamila joined M/Y Esmeralda early this season. Kamila has previous experience on a number of yachts including M/Y Black & White and M/Y Blue Ice. Kamila worked initially in the hotel and restaurant industry and later on cruise ships with Carnival lines before joining yachting.

STEWARDESS: JOSIE STRATHEARN –BritishJosie joined M/Y Esmeralda early this season. Josie has had some good experience on a number of yachts including M/Y Alma, M/Y Corinthian and M/Y Dorabella. Josie is based in Mallorca and has had previous work experience in the local hospitality industry there.

STEWARD: PAULITO PEREZ –Phillipino (6 month rotation)Paulito, like his older brother, is a qualified merchant seaman and is trained in all aspects of interior customer service including laundry and galley work. This will be Paulito’seleventh season on board M/Y Esmeralda.

2ND CHEF:EDUARD TITIYEVSKY –UkrainianThis will be Eduard’s third season on board M/Y Esmeralda. Eduard has had very good experience on a number of yachts including M/Y Cirrus I, M/Y Valerie, and M/Y Lady Anastasia. Prior to yachting Eduard worked on luxury cruise ships such as the Prince Albert II, Silver Shadow, and the prestigious Hebridean Spirit.

SENIOR GALLEY STEWARD: RENATO PEREZ –Phillipino (6 month rotation)Renato is a qualified merchant Seaman with previous experienceon passenger vessels. This will now be Renato’seighteenth season with M/Y Esmeralda, during which time he has become a reliable and skilled member of the galley staff.
