Crew profile:
CAPTAIN TERENCE HEYNS | South African
BLACK SWAN is captained by one the most experienced sailors the industry has to offer. Terence started sailing at the age of twelve and after many hours on the water sailed anything he could lay hands on. Terence was soon racking up medals and national colors representing his country in micro multihull regattas and windsurfing events. At 16 years of age he was the youngest captain to hold a 25 ton license and often sailed the family catamaran to remote Mozambique. After completing school he joined Sunsail in Turkey and captained their larger fleet yachts. The career path was inevitable and he soon progressed to further international destinations on a variety of larger sailing and charter yachts. To date he has logged over 130,000 nautical miles and crossed the Northern and Southern Atlantic 17 times. Working together with his wife Alyssa guest
satisfaction and safety is their number one priority. They enjoy introducing guests to new and favorite destinations and all the attractions these
exciting and exotic locations have to offer. They have spent the last few years on a well charted 70 foot catamaran cruising the Caribbean and prior on a 124 ft Ketch specializing in the Mediterranean, East Coast US, Bahamas, Virgin Isles and Caribbean. With Terence’s calm, professional mannerism and extensive world chartering knowledge you can be assured a delightful holiday experience for the guests aboard BLACK SWAN.

STEWARDESS ALYSSA HEYNS | American
Alyssa grew up on the New England coast of the United States. At an early age she developed a love for travel and exploration, every summer was an exciting adventure by the sea where she developed a love for boating with her family from a young age. She spent her earlier years as a
university student studying chemistry and biology at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. Alyssa has worked both private and charter on yachts ranging from 70-150 foot both power and sail in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Alyssa’s experience, service skills, keen eye for detail and aim-to-please personality makes her a gracious hostess that will accommodate the needs of any guest aboard BLACK SWAN.

CHEF GREG MORGAN | Australian
A native of the mid-north coast of Australia, Greg was raised on a small farm near the ocean. After completing his training in culinary arts at Sydney’s top catering college, he worked in some of that city’s most highly regarded restaurants. Greg’s specialty is fresh seafood, and he insists on using only the freshest he can catch or buy, often directly from the fisherman. Greg takes a very personal approach in his cooking, and this shows in the diversity and creativity of his menus.

ENGINEER ROSS MCGILL | South African
An avid sailor for over 20 years, Ross grew up in Durban, South Africa. He has a love of all water sports including surfing, kite surfing, and fishing and is a qualified kite surf instructor. Ross started his career in engineering by owning and operating a successful plumbing company in South Africa for almost 10 years. He has since pursued his passion to work on yachts and has experience on both power and sail. His engaging personality and
willingness to assist the guests in any of their needs makes Ross an excellent crew member for BLACK SWAN.

STEWARDESS LOUISE DARWIN | Australian
From the moment Louise welcomes her guests on board BLACK SWAN, she is committed to seeing that every aspect of their cruise is of the very highest caliber. She has worked on large sailing yachts throughout the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, and she holds qualifications and a heap of experience in personal training, childcare, life-saving, and managing restaurants in Sydney’s northern beaches. It’s always Louise’s pleasure to go the extra mile to ensure guests relish every moment of their time onboard BLACK SWAN.
