Boat and yacht charters Seychelles: Beside the Antilles the Seychelles belong to the nicest sailing area of the world. This area is located about 100 nautical miles away from the east African coastline. To cut a long story short, this dreamlike area is composed of 115 tropical larger islands and very small ones as well, which are arranged in a line like a string of pearls in the turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. They are totally spread over an area of 400 square kilometres but are sprinkled over an area of about 400000 square kilometres. Mainly these islands are uninhabited and a great number of them belong to nature reserves. Regularly it is not allowed to enter these nature reserves, only in cases of exception it is allowed to walk into for several hours a week. The ecological awareness of the Seychellois (that's how the inhabitants of the Seychelles are called) is very significant, that's why chartering a yacht is possible just since 1995. Some Islands consist of granite rock (the islands located in the middle), others have a substructure of corals (the islands in the south). You should take into account a few hours to get impressed by the magical, plentiful underwater world. You will be overwhelmed by white sanded silver luminous beaches, crystal clear warm water, bays - one more beautiful than the other, the unchanged beauty of this area and the gentlemanly and inviting nature of the Seychellois.

Wind and Weather: The whole year a tropical and warm climate is predominant in this area. Contrary to this climate, hurricanes do not occur. The air temperature goes up to 35 degrees Celsius at best days and the water temperature with its 27 to 29 degrees Celsius throughout is more than enjoyable. From October till May there is a constant gentle breeze from northwest. From June till September the wind usually blows from southeast. For the whole year the level of the wind speed (about 3 to 4 Beaufort) is very attractive. The humidest time is in the middle of December till the end of February. While sailing through the numerous coral riffs it is absolutely necessary to concentrate on the sea charts, not only because of the tide, which causes differences in the level of water up to 1.5 meters.
